Description
Victorian ink well bottle. Octagonal in shape in aqua green clear glass with iridescence. Iridescence is a weathering phenomenon of typical of buried glass. It would have been known as a burst-off lip bottle which were sold for a penny and once used were thrown away. They were mouth blown into a 2 part mould. I have ground the top down so that there are no sharp edges.
This small candleholder is dressed with a freshwater pearl and a round brass hand stamped tag hung round the neck with a brass chain. It has a 1.3cm hole hole for a thin candle which may need shaving down to fit.
I use simple white votive candles 6″ by 1/2″.
I should mention that all the candle holders in this Ambrosia collection, like most of my work are completely unique and one off due to the very nature of the materials I use. All the elements are antique & vintage finds, reimagined, repurposed and curated in to new objects.
All our collections can be customised & personalised.
