Description
A classic vintage pickle fork, garnished with a delicate Art Deco pale cream rose detail.
The pale creamy rose in this piece is carved bone from a 1930’s earring . The fork after a little investigation is also thought to be from the Art Deco period and was used exclusively for picking up pickles and such like. In art and jewellery roses represent romance and enduring love. It is known as the ‘Queen of the flowers’ and has also been linked to Aphrodite, the goddess of love.
This pendant is suspended on a sterling silver curb chain by a small twisted silver jump ring, while the rose is attached to the fork by a hand formed silver pin. The chain is made from recycled silver (un-hallmarked) You can choose between a silver curb chain as pictured here or a silver ball chain necklace. Just pop a note with your choice in the ‘special instructions’ at the checkout.
